The Quezon City Department of Public Order and Safety has cracked down on pedicabs counterflowing along Agham Road going to Trinoma Mall at North Avenue in response to mounting public complaints.

To date, the DPOS, through the Tricycle Regulatory Unit, has assigned traffic personnel to the area specifically to monitor and apprehend these pedicabs regularly.

“We expect a reduction of their illegal operations,” said DPOS head Elmo San Diego.

Earlier, complaints of pedicabs counterflowing along Agham Road were reported through the 8888 Citizens’ Complaint Hotline. One of the complaining motorists noted that the pedicabs were posing a hazard, considering the area is dimly lighted and counterflowing could lead to head-on collisions.
