THE Department of Communication Research of the University of the Philippines College of Communication will host the First Communication Research International Conference on Sept. 22-23 at the UP Film Center in Diliman, Quezon City.
The conference aims to discuss and exchange ideas on information issues and set directions to promote understanding of the Asean integration, create greater public awareness of the benefits and challenges of the Asean integration and develop a regional platform for open discussion and information sharing.
Dr. Elena Pernia, UP CMC dean and CRIC organizer, said the conference also aims to address the gaps in knowledge and competencies of integration with respect to media, communication, and its allied fields; conceptualize integration discourses using communication and media as a lens and advance scholarship in the field and discuss theoretical and practical issues and concerns.
