Makati extends its tax deadline

The city government of Makati on Tuesday extended the January 20 deadline for assessment and collection for business permits, real property taxes and other fees and charges due to the five-day holiday during the Papal visit.

City Treasurer Nelia Barlis said the last day of filing is set on Feb. 2, 2015, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

She said payments for business licenses will be accepted without penalty until Feb. 13, 2015from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Barlis said for real property tax payment, taxpayers may avail themselves of the 10 percent discount up to Feb. 13.

Frontline City Hall offices will be closed from January 15 to 19, and will resume operations on Jan. 20 until Jan. 23, she said.

During the weekend, January 24 to 25, they will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

On the last week of January (26 to 30), work hours will be from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m while on the last weekend before the final deadline, Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, work hours will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
