Signal number 1 is up over five provinces in Mindanao.
This comes as the Low Pressure Area (LPA) east of Mindanao becomes a Tropical Depression.
It has been named “Auring.”
Signal number one is up over Agusan del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Island.
PAGASA reports, “Auring” is currently located 260 kilometers east northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
It packs maximum sustained winds of up to 45 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph.
The tropical depression is moving west northwest at 7 kph.
It is expected to make landfall over Surigao provinces on Sunday night.
