The family of the late National Artist for Film Fernando Poe Jr. nixes suggestions for his remains to be transferred to the Libingan Ng Mga Bayani.

His daughter, Senator Grace Poe, says, when ‘FPJ’ was still alive, he told them that should he die, he would like to be buried at the Manila North Cemetery, beside the tombs of his parents.

Senator Poe also notes, if FPJ’s remains will be moved to the Heroes’ Cemetery in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, ordinary people will not be able to visit him.

She says, “kung magiging mahirap abutin si FPJ, mawawala ang diwa ng pagigi nyang FPJ (if access to FPJ will be difficult, the essence of FPJ will be gone).”

The lawmaker and her mother, veteran actress Susan Roces, were at the Manila North Cemetery in Manila on Wednesday morning for the mass for FPJ’s 12th death anniversary.
