ITCZ brings rains to Luzon and Visayas

The Low Pressure Area (LPA) inside the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is now over Palapag, Northern Samar.

These 2 conditions bring moderate to heavy rains in CALABARZON, Bicol, Western and Eastern Visayas and the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

Weather bureau PAGASA is monitoring two storms outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The first is a tropical storm with international name ‘Meari’ at 1,780 kilometers east of Central Luzon.

‘Meari’ packs maximum sustained winds of up to 65 kilometers per hour near the center.

PAGASA has also spotted a tropical depression 2,235 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon.

It packs maximum sustained winds of up to 55 kph near the center.

Weather forecaster Benison Estareja says, the two storms do not affect the country’s weather.

He says, the rains are brought by the ITCZ.
