The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has temporarily stopped the printing of ballots for Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

Comelec Chairman Andres Bautista made the announcement.

The move comes, after the poll body learned that President Rodrigo Duterte and Congress leaders favor the postponement of the polls set on October 31 this year.

Bautista hopes, the Executive and the Legislative branches of government will come up with a final decision soon.

Comelec has printed some 400,000 ballots for barangay elections in Agusan del Sur and Agusan del Norte.
