Brillante Mendoza inspects Batasan for SONA

Award-winning Independent Film Director Brillante Mendoza and Presidential Communications Operations (PCO) Secretary Martin Andanar conduct an ocular inspection of the Batasang Pambansa on Monday.

This is in preparation for President Rodrigo Duterte’s first State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 25.

Employees of the House of Representatives are currently cleaning up chairs and tables inside the plenary hall.

Mendoza and Andanar met last Thursday to begin discussing the production for SONA.

Andanar was one of Mendoza’s students in a directing class.

Mendoza describes his new project as an honor.

He says the messages in his movies are aligned with the new administation’s poverty alleviation program.

Mendoza is directing the SONA for free.
