Abu Sayyaf frees Filipino hostage in Sulu

The Filipino who was abducted by the Abu Sayyaf in 2015 has been freed.

Maritess Flor was released in front of the house of Sulu Governor Abdusakur Tan in Jolo, Sulu early Friday morning.

She is now in the custody of the Philippine Marines and is being brought to a hospital for medical treatment.

Flor was kidnapped from Samal Island in Davao del Norte in September last year along with 2 Canadians and a Norwegian.

Canadian hostages Robert Hall and John Ridsdell were beheaded by the bandits.
