SM celebrates women power

SM Supermalls is celebrating International Women’s Month with activities that seek to influence women and help lead them toward a productive life. The activities are initiatives under SM Cares, a mall-based corporate social responsibility program for all SM malls nationwide. Beginning March 21, the husband and wife tandem of Anthony Pangilinan and Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan will be at SM Megamall to discuss single motherhood as part of a series of free lectures under their project HIP PINAS, in cooperation with The Parenting Company. A nationwide campaign, HIP PINAS encourages Filipino parents to practice holistic parenting supported by an online national parenting support group. The lecture series will be followed by eight more lectures in other SM malls nationwide until October. From March 22-27, SM Southmall will feature a Gifts and Graces Fair Trade Exhibit entitled, “Amazing Women.” The exhibit will showcase handicraft products created by women who benefited from Gifts and Graces Trade Fair Foundation’s livelihood program. The Foundation partners with various organizations to help them fulfill their mission of building better lives for the marginalized sector of society through product development, technical training on enterprise management, and global market access to livelihood communities. In line with the celebration of International Women’s Month is an exclusive sale for female customers on all Wednesdays of March. All female buyers are entitled to discounts of up to 10% in all SM affiliates including the SM Department Store, SM Appliance Center, Watson’s, Our Home, Ace Hardware and participating tenants of SM malls. Those who will use their SM Advantage Card at SM Supermarket will be rewarded with double points.
