As the campaign period draws to a close, senatorial candidate and Makati Mayor Abby Binay thanked all the volunteers and supporters who have been part of her journey as she went around the country to connect with fellow Filipinos, sharing her aspirations for a “Better Philippines.”
“I am utterly grateful to our volunteers and supporters for all the hard work they have put in since the start of the campaign. Their boundless energy and enthusiasm kept me going despite a rigorous schedule,” Binay said in a statement.
She also attributed her consistent high ranking in all credible surveys to the overwhelming support shown by local leaders and various community and sectoral organizations in the towns, cities, and provinces she visited over the past weeks.
“I am truly heartened to have consistently placed within the magic 12 in all credible surveys. It is an extraordinary achievement made possible by the synchronized efforts of all my volunteers, supporters, and endorsers who have put their trust in me as their worthy ally and advocate in the Senate,” Binay said.
She also acknowledged the support of the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas led by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., which helped enable her to touch base with several political heavyweights and community builders across the country.
“Being part of the Alyansa senatorial slate has been an unforgettable and awesome experience. I will always cherish the opportunities it has provided for me to meet new friends and reconnect with old friends, and be inspired by their vision and their dedication to public service,” Binay said.
The local chief executive has gained the endorsement and pledges of support of several governors, mayors, representatives, and barangay chairs as she went around the country.
Many of them are former colleagues in the House of Representatives where she served for nine years as representative of the second district of Makati.
Binay has vowed to replicate Makati’s pioneering social development programs on a national level, among them providing free maintenance medicines and strengthening early childhood education.
She also vowed to advocate for the tax exemption of overtime pay and bonuses of private sector and government workers to promote financial security among Filipino workers and their families.
