The administration-backed Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas will hold a massive rally scheduled in Pasay City on Tuesday, February 18, marking the culmination of its campaign kick-offs before launching a full-force nationwide campaign for the May 2025 midterm elections.
The 12,000-capacity Cuneta Astrodome was chosen as the venue for the event meant to reinforce Alyansa’s push to dominate the National Capital Region (NCR), one of the country’s most decisive electoral battlegrounds.
Home to 13.48 million residents, NCR has 7.32 million registered voters, making it a critical stronghold in the 2025 elections. The region played a crucial role in the 2022 polls, where 5.96 million people cast their ballots.
In that election, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. secured 3.26 million votes, sweeping all 17 cities and municipalities in Metro Manila—a victory the administration now aims to replicate by securing a strong Senate slate.
The Pasay rally follows a powerful sequence of campaign launches in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte; Iloilo City; and Carmen, Davao del Norte, covering the main islands of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, and setting the stage for an aggressive campaign across the country.
“We started strong in Ilocos Norte, brought our message to Visayas and Mindanao, and now we are in the heart of the capital,” said Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco, Alyansa’s campaign manager.
“Metro Manila is crucial to winning in 2025, and this rally will show that we are ready to bring our vision of progress and unity to every Filipino,” Tiangco added.
The event is expected to be a massive show of force for the current administration, with President Marcos and key allies rallying behind Alyansa’s powerhouse 12-member Senate slate.
The lineup includes former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos, Makati City Mayor Abby Binay, Senators Pia Cayetano, Imee Marcos, Lito Lapid, Francis Tolentino, Ramon ‘Bong’ Revilla Jr., former Senators Panfilo Lacson and Manny Pacquiao, former Senate President Vicente ‘Tito’ Sotto III, ACT-CIS party list Rep. Erwin Tulfo, and House Deputy Speaker Camille Villar.
With Metro Manila playing a decisive role in the 2022 elections, the administration’s campaign is focused on locking in voter support and sustaining momentum throughout the campaign period.
The administration candidates are expected to outline their legislative priorities, focusing on economic recovery, infrastructure expansion, better access to education, healthcare reforms, and stronger national security policies.
The rally is also expected to reinforce Alyansa’s core message of unity and continuity, solidifying its role as the driving force behind the sustained progress of the Marcos administration beyond 2025.
The Pasay rally is expected to draw thousands of supporters, including local officials and grassroots leaders from across NCR, ensuring that Alyansa’s campaign begins with a strong foothold in the capital.
Alyansa is gearing up for full-scale operations, ramping up regional sorties and direct voter engagements in the coming weeks.
