Imelda, who will be running as vice mayor after completing her three consecutive terms as the local chief executive, wants to be replaced by her daughter in a bid to continue the legacy of the late Mayor Vergel “Nene” Aguilar in public service, particularly through education and health programs.

The Aguilars maintained various health services for city residents and the issuance of a “green card,” a hospitalization program initiated by Nene, to help residents pay their hospital bills.

Meanwhile, April initiated improving the city’s health services by procuring a mobile X-ray van and establishing laboratory and diagnostic centers in Districts 1 and 2.

The Aguilars are also planning to expand the programs for senior citizens, including free cataract removal and free diagnostic and laboratory tests.

Alelee Aguilar, Zardi Abellera, Brian Bayog, Robert Cristobal, Mac-Mac Santos, and Marlon Rosales are running for first district councilors under the Team Aguilar slate. Those running for the second district include Henry Medina, Tito Martinez, Macky Saito, Lester Aranda, Euan Toralballa, and Luigi Casimiro.
