Tsinoy killers face murder raps
SAN Juan City police on Monday filed murder charges before the prosecutors office against six suspects in the killing of a Filipino-Chinese businessman last Jan. 28.
Senior Supt. Bernard Tambaoan, city police chief, identified them as Benedict Tiu, Reggie Gudayo, driver Hercan Fuentes and three John Does.
Records showed that Kelvin Tan, 34, of New Manila, Quezon City, was shot dead inside his parked Toyota Altis (POZ 789) after making a transaction at bank along Ortigas Avenue.
Tambaon said Tan encashed P200,000 which he gave to Gudayo, allegedly the bodyguard of Tiu, who was the victim’s friend. The money is missing.
But Gudayo told investigators that it was he who handed the money before the shooting happened.
Witnesses said the gunman approached Tan and fired at him with two other unidentified men acting a lookouts.
The police theorized a business matter could be the cause of the slaying.
