Expanded 4PH program saves Valenzuela families

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development on Sunday said the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) program has saved informal settler families in Valenzuela City from displacement.

More than 200 residents expressed gratitude after the DHSUD, through the Social Housing Finance Corp., extended cash assistance to their association under the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program.

For members of the Bagong Pag-asa Neighborhood Association of PARADA Inc. in Barangay Parada, the assistance represented not only land ownership but also renewed hope, stability, and the chance to remain in a community near healthcare and livelihood opportunities.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling and SHFC president and chief executive officer Federico Laxa recently led the awarding of more than P9 million in assistance for land acquisition and related taxes covering a 2,318-square meter property occupied by beneficiary families.

Aliling said the Expanded 4PH Program aims not only to provide housing security but also to uplift the dignity and quality of life of Filipino families.
