PBBM declares local holidays in February

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. declared several special nonworking holidays in various parts of the country throughout February to allow residents to participate in local festivals and commemorative events.

The declarations were made through a series of proclamations signed by Acting Executive Secretary Ralph Recto by authority of the President.

Under Proclamation No. 1145, February 26 was declared a special nonworking holiday in Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay, to mark its founding anniversary and the BOG Festival.

Other local holidays declared include February 28 in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, under Proclamation No. 1146; February 2 in Ilocos Norte province for its 208th founding anniversary under Proclamation No. 1147; and February 28 in Tanza, Cavite, for the 112th Araw ng Tanza under Proclamation No. 1148.

Mr. Marcos also declared February 26 a special nonworking holiday in Zamboanga City for its 89th Charter Anniversary under Proclamation No. 1149, and February 18 in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, for the Tawo-Tawo Festival under Proclamation No. 1150.

Under Proclamation No. 1151, February 2 was declared a local holiday in Ilocos Sur province for its founding anniversary.

Proclamation No. 1152 also declared February 10 a holiday in Talisay, Batangas, for its founding anniversary, while Proclamation No. 1153 set February 11 as a holiday in Iriga City, Camarines Sur, for the Tinagba Festival.

Additional proclamations include Proclamation No. 1154 declaring February 10 a holiday in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, for the Pamulinawen Festival; Proclamation No. 1155 declaring February 17 a holiday in Padre Burgos, Quezon, for Padre Burgos Day; and Proclamation No. 1156 declaring February 19 a holiday in Bago City, Negros Occidental, for its 60th Charter Anniversary.

Furthermore, Proclamation No. 1157 declared February 4 a holiday in San Fernando City, Pampanga, for its 25th Cityhood Anniversary, while Proclamation No. 1158 set February 13 as a holiday in Parañaque for its 28th Cityhood Anniversary.

The President also issued Proclamation No. 1159 declaring February 24 a special nonworking holiday in Zamboanga Sibugay province for its 25th founding anniversary, and Proclamation No. 1160 declaring February 27 a local holiday in General Santos City for the Kalilangan Festival.
