The Philippine Consulate in Hong Kong has cautioned all Filipinos against job offers involving deployment to third countries or cross-country work arrangements.
In an advisory dated January 14, the consulate said such schemes bypass Philippine regulations designed to protect the welfare and rights of Overseas Filipino Workers.
“The Filipino Community is advised to be vigilant and discerning with employment offers posted in various social media platforms,” the advisory read.
It also urged Filipinos who have doubts or believe they may have been victims of such employment offers to immediately contact the Migrant Workers Office in Hong Kong (MWO-HK) for guidance and assistance.
In December, the Philippine Embassy in Italy issued a warning to Filipinos both in Italy and the Philippines regarding reports of alleged illegal recruitment, deception, and unauthorized fee collection by certain individuals and groups operating in Europe.
