A new chapter has begun at the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) with the appointment of Director Christine June Cariño as the college’s new president.
NDCP said Cariño brings with her more than two decades of experience in the defense and security sector, marked by leadership roles in both academic and policy-driven environments.
Cariño started her professional career at the NDCP in 1999 as a Defense Research Officer before joining the faculty.
She later served as chief of the Academic Affairs Division, where she oversaw the college’s flagship Master in National Security Administration (MNSA) program, playing a key role in developing future leaders in national security and governance.
In 2012, she was promoted to director at the Department of National Defense (DND), where she handled several key assignments, including stints in the offices of Plans and Programs, Human Resource, and Financial Management.
Prior to her return to the NDCP, Cariño served as chief of the Office for Cyber and Information Systems Management.
