RESIDENTS of Talitay, Maguindanao del Norte on Monday reaffirmed their commitment to peace and security in the Bangsamoro region by voluntarily surrendering 12 high-powered firearms and other weapons to the Joint Task Force Central (JTF Central).
The guns were formally received by Brig. Gen. Edgar Catu, commander of the 601st Infantry Brigade, during the turnover ceremony.
Maj. Gen. Donald Gumiran, chief of the Western Mindanao Command, lauded the villagers for their cooperation and dedication to peace-building.
“The decision of Talitay residents to voluntarily surrender firearms is a powerful affirmation of their desire for a safe and secure community. This act of cooperation strengthens the foundation of peace in the Bangsamoro and underscores the vital partnership between our communities and the Armed Forces of the Philippines,” Gumiran said.
