THE United Nations Association of the Philippines on Friday posthumously conferred the Medal of Service to the late Lanao del Sur Gov. Bejoria Soraya Alonto-Adiong for her role in the 2017 siege of Marawi City.
She was governor of Lanao del Sur during the entire five months of the Siege Marawi City.

Philippine Muslim Women Council president, Bai Norhata Alonto received the award on behalf of the governor.
The event marked the 80th anniversary of the United Nations. The UNAP pushes its advocacy for laudable acts of public service.
