The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday announced that it had raised a “Code White” alert due to the presence of Tropical Storm “Ramil” (international name: Fengshen) in the country.
“Under the code white alert, the DOH Operations Center continues to monitor medicines, medical equipment, and health emergency response teams to respond to affected regions in the country,” the DOH posted in a mix of English and Filipino.
In the Bicol Region, the Health Department has prepared P11.2 million worth of medicines, health commodities, first-aid kits, tents, and breastfeeding kits.
It has likewise secured clean water and water containers to be distributed in evacuation centers, as well as emergency response teams for deployment ahead of Ramil’s landfall.
The DOH cited the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to ensure the safety and health of Filipinos during the time of calamity.
