Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon administered the oath taking of five newly-appointed undersecretaries for the agency on Monday, September 29, who replaced those who were allegedly linked to flood control anomalies.
The new DPWH officials include Arrey Perez, Undersecretary for Operations in charge of Convergence Projects and Technical Services; Arthur Bisnar, Undersecretary for Regional Operations; Charles Calima Jr., Undersecretary for Special Concerns; Ricardo Bernabe III, Undersecretary at the Office of the Secretary; and Samuel Rufino Turgano, Undersecretary for Legal Services.
President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. signed their appointment papers as part of the DPWH reorganization.
These new appointees are tasked with assisting Dizon in his efforts to restore integrity and efficiency in DPWH operations, root out corruption, and end “ghost projects” in the agency.
Their appointments are part of the administration’s push for accountability, transparency, and reform within the DPWH. This developed after Dizon ordered all DPWH officials to submit their courtesy resignations on his first day in office.
