Baguio City media camp to transform into garden

The Baguio media camp at Burnham Park will soon be transformed into a Japanese bamboo garden.
The site, fondly called Camp Peppot, will be renovated this year with support from Japan Tobacco International and the Philippine Bamboo Foundation.

Ten varieties of imported bamboo will be planted, with the area divided into four clusters to form a mini-Japanese garden.

The camp, named after media pioneer Jose “Peppot” Ilagan Jr., has been managed by the Baguio Correspondents and Broadcasters Club since 1990.

Once completed, it will also serve as a nature laboratory for students.
