Philippine Airlines (PAL) suspended 10 flights in Ninoy Aquino International Airport to and from Laoag, Basco, Tuguegarao and Cauayan, and two other flights in Clark International Airport to and from Basco while Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) canceled two flights in NAIA to and from Laoag.

CAAP also reported that AirSwift suspended two flights in El Nido, Palawan to and from Busuanga on Sunday. At least 700 passengers were affected by these flight cancellations.

Aviation personnel are assisting affected passengers with rebooking and refund procedures, as well as baggage claims and security support.

Super Typhoon ‘Nando’ is anticipated to make landfall in Batanes or the Babuyan Islands on Monday, September 22, and is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility by Tuesday morning.

As part of CAAP’s standard operating procedures, Basco Airport personnel have commenced the installation of typhoon shutters across critical areas of the terminal and other vulnerable infrastructure.

These measures aim to secure all essential airport areas, particularly glass panels, doors, and windows.

CAAP remains in constant coordination with PAGASA and other relevant agencies to monitor the development of the typhoon. The agency also continues to collaborate with local government units and disaster risk reduction offices to ensure that all aviation facilities are storm-ready.
