President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Friday celebrated his 68th birthday a day earlier with the annual “Salo-salo sa Palasyo” at Malacañang’s Kalayaan grounds.
The said tradition has come to symbolize his administration’s message of openness and connection with the Filipino people.
The Palace opened its doors to supporters from Metro Manila, nearby provinces, and as far as the Ilocos region, many of whom traveled to personally extend their greetings to the Chief Executive.
Guests filled the venue with cheers, music, and banners before the President’s arrival.
Mr. Marcos, accompanied by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, arrived at the celebration on a golf cart, waving to the crowd before joining them in the festivities.
The program featured cultural performances, musical numbers, and the communal sharing of food.
The gathering highlights the President’s promise to keep Malacañang accessible to the public and to maintain a personal connection with his constituents.
