The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), through its Embassy in New Delhi and its Honorary Consulate General in Kathmandu, Nepal, on Wednesday announced it has not received any reports of Filipino nationals affected by the unrest in Nepal.
“The Department of Foreign Affairs, through its Embassy in New Delhi and its Honorary Consulate General in Kathmandu, Nepal, are actively monitoring developments and the situation of Filipinos, and are in touch with Filipino Community organizations in the country,” read a statement sent to reporters.
The embassy added that they are actively monitoring developments and the situation of the Filipino community there.
Based on the DFA’s records, there is a total of 128 Filipinos in Nepal.
The Foreign Affairs Department has since advised Filipinos in Nepal to take shelter in their respective current residences and avoid going out, follow all safety and security instructions of local authorities, and observe the curfews and exercise all due caution.
