The suspect’s wife surrendered pieces of evidence, including the red Honda Click motorcycle, a tampered plate number, a black raincoat, a red helmet, sandals, and another helmet used for disguise.

Investigation showed the suspect, wearing a black raincoat and a red Move It helmet, broke into the victim’s laundry shop in Barangay Bagbag, Novaliches, last Monday at about 8:59 a.m. and shot the victim repeatedly.

Before fleeing on a red Honda Click motorcycle toward Quirino Highway, the suspect snatched the victim’s gold necklace worth P145,000.

QCPD acting district director Col. Randy Glenn Silvio created a special investigation team to go after the suspect,

He attributed the speedy apprehension of the suspect to CCTV backtracking, hot-pursuit operations, and coordination among other law enforcement divisions and barangay officials.

CCTV footage showed the suspect at Sabina Market, where he brought the stolen necklace to a goldsmith for repair.

He was identified through his getaway motorcycle, which was later verified by the Land Transportation Office to be registered under his wife’s name.

On Wednesday morning, the suspect was cornered at Sitio Pajo Market, Barangay Baesa.

“Mike Joey” was charged with robbery with homicide before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
