The Commission on Elections has extended until early next week the registration of online campaign platforms by candidates and political parties participating in the Oct. 13 Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections (BPE).
The poll body said it moved the deadline from Aug. 13 to Aug. 18.
“The online campaign platform registration in relation to the 2025 BPE is extended to Aug. 18, including weekends and holidays,” it said.
The Comelec added that online registration is open for 24 hours until 11:59 pm. on Aug. 18.
On the other hand, the transmission of hard copies to the Task Force KKK sa Halalan will be open from Mondays to Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., until Monday.
The Commission has directed all official social media accounts and pages, websites, podcasts, blogs, vlogs, and other online and internet-based campaign platforms of candidates and parties in the forthcoming BPE to register with them.
Comelec data showed there are around 100 candidates for district representatives and seven participating Regional Parliamentary Political Parties (RPPPs) for the October polls.
It added that only 29 candidates and political parties have filed their applications for the registration of their online campaign platforms, including 10 applications from RPPPs and 19 from candidates for district representatives.
Meanwhile, the poll body has implemented a gun ban in Isabela City, in connection with the BPE.
“The geographic location of the City of Isabela necessitates its inclusion in the coverage of the 2025 BPE Gun Ban despite not being part of the province of Basilan, politically and administratively, and of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao,” it explained.
The election period will run until Oct. 28, during which carrying firearms in the whole of BARMM is prohibited unless allowed by the commission.
