Comelec launches 10-day special registration for 2025 BSKE

Hundreds of new voters trooped to authorized Commission on Elections (Comelec) registration offices under the Special Register Anywhere Program (SRAP) on Friday, August 1—the first of the 10-day application period for the 2025 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).

The Comelec’s SRAP is a program to make voter registration more accessible to individuals in their residential, workplace, educational, and shopping areas throughout Metro Manila.

Comelec chairman George Garcia said the registration which starts daily at 8 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. targets at least 2 million new voters.

Garcia said that multiple Comelec registration teams have been deployed to various sites across Metro Manila such as public parks, train stations, shopping malls, schools, churches, and airports, to encourage both new and returning voters.

“This is a major push to make registration as convenient as possible. We’re bringing the process to where the people are,” he said.

The Comelec reiterated that there will be no transfer of local registration records during the voter registration period.

However, other types of applications will be accepted including: registration, change of name and status, correction of entries, reactivation of registration records, inclusion of registration records, and reinstating of name in the list of voters.

The following may also be processed: applications for reactivation, reactivation with change or correction, reactivation with updating of records, updating of records of person with disability (PWD), senior citizen, and members of indigenous peoples (IPs) and indigenous cultural communities (ICCs), and transfer from overseas to local only.
