MTRCB reviews over 103k materials in 6 mos.

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) rated and classified a total of 103,652 materials from January to June 2025 as part of its intensified efforts to ensure age-appropriate content across platforms.

MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto-Antonio said in a statement Saturday that the agency remains committed to protecting viewers, especially minors, by promoting responsible viewing.

The materials reviewed included 65,769 television programs, 36,263 TV plugs, 834 publicity materials, 490 movie trailers, and 287 local and foreign films. An additional nine publicity materials were also rated.

“We remain fully committed to our mission of protecting viewers by using age-appropriate rating and classification,” Antonio said.

She added that proper classification helps parents and supervising adults make informed choices about what children watch.

Antonio also commended board members and staff for their dedication and integrity in carrying out their duties.
