A total of 241 summa cum laude graduates of the University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) will be recognized in 2025 during a July 6 graduation ceremony.
They are joined by 1,143 magna cum laude and 985 cum laude graduates, bringing the university’s latin honor graduates this year to 2,369.
Citing data from its Office of the University Registrar, UPD said over 5,000 students are set to march this Sunday.
The number of summa cum laude graduates in 2025 has dropped from the 286 recorded in the class of 2024, as well as the 305 tallied in 2023.
According to the university, “it was in 2022 that the number of summa cum laude graduates considerably increased, with 150.”
Before that, 2019 saw 54 summa cum laude graduates, followed by a relative drop in 2020 to 28 and in 2021 to 29.
