The Philippine Navy reaffirmed its commitment to regional security and defense modernization by participating in the Defense and Security Equipment International (DSEI) Japan 2025, held from May 21 to 23 in Chiba, Japan.
Representing the Navy was Rear Adm. Juario Marayag, commander of the Naval Sea Systems Command, who joined military leaders and defense experts from across the globe at the biennial defense and maritime forum hosted at Makuhari Messe.
The event featured top officials from the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), Indian Navy, Oman, Spain, and Brazil, with JMSDF Chief of Staff Admiral Saito Akira underscoring the Indo-Pacific region’s shared role in ensuring maritime stability.
The Navy said its participation supports the Horizon 3 modernization program, which aims to enhance fleet capabilities and adopt cutting-edge defense technologies.
DSEI Japan also allowed the Navy to engage in strategic dialogue and gain insights into emerging trends, reinforcing its goal of strengthening interoperability and regional cooperation amid evolving maritime threats.
