The NDRRMC also said that a total of 6,115 persons or 1,233 families are currently staying inside eight evacuation centers, waiting for the floodwaters to subside. Most of the affected residents have sought temporary shelters elsewhere.

As of this posting, a total of 111 areas in Maguindanao del Sur reported serious flooding. Four roads and one bridge in the province were rendered impassable because of the ongoing weather phenomenon.

“Since 14 May 2025, Mindanao has been experiencing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ. This resulted in flashfloods in several municipalities in Maguindanao del Sur,” the NDRRMC said.
