Senatorial candidates of former President Rodrigo Duterte’s slate ended their campaign for the upcoming midterm elections with a Miting de Avance yesterday at Liwasang Bonifacio.
All 10 members of the so-called “DuterTEN” were present at the Manila event: Jimmy Bondoc, Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa, Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go, Jayvee Hinlo, Raul Lambino, Richard Mata, Rodante Marcoleta, Apollo Quiboloy, Vic Rodriguez, and Philip Salvador.
As of press time, Vice President Sara Duterte has not spoken at the Duterten rally although she confirmed attendance at the event.
At least two of the Duterten are among the projected winners in the latest pre-election survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations. Two other candidates — Sen. Imee Marcos and Rep. Camille Villar — endorsed by VP Sara — are also in the top 12.
Reelectionist Senator Bong Go is in second place with 43%. Incumbent Senator Bato Dela Rosa is tied in the 7th-8th spots with 31%.
Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar remains steady in 10th place with 30%, while Imee Marcos is tied in 11th-12th place with 29%.
