More than 200,000 job opportunities are up for grabs in various job fairs to be hosted by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) nationwide as part of this year’s Labor Day celebration on May 1.
In a statement, the department said at least 2,281 participating employers offered 216,144 job opportunities in the industries of manufacturing, retail, business process outsourcing (BPO), accommodation and food service activities, and financial and insurance industries.
A total of 181,933 jobs are local vacancies while 34,211 are overseas jobs.
“Top vacancies include production operators, sales clerks, call center representatives, service crews, and microfinance officers,” DOLE said in a statement.
The job fairs will be mounted as a special activity across all regions dedicated to the Filipino workers and job seekers, which is also in line with President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s directive to make job fairs a regular nationwide initiative.
Major companies—including SM, Robinsons, San Miguel Foods, Aboitiz, Toyota, Honda, Accenture, Epson, and BDO—will be offering various vacancies to job seekers nationwide.
Job seekers joining the main job fair venue at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City can apply for positions offered by big companies, such as the Union Bank of the Philippines, Meralco, DMCI Construction Company, 2Go Group, and McDonald’s, among others.
Other notable companies joining this year’s list of participating employers are Globe, LBC Express, Asia Brewery, Inc., Puregold, and other legitimate human resource agencies nationwide.
Interested applicants may reach their nearest Public Employment Services Office (PESO) or DOLE regional or field offices to access the full list of venues, participating employers, and available job roles.
