A total of 17,996 students out of 135,236 college applicants will have the opportunity to pursue higher education at the University of the Philippines (UP) for the academic year 2025-2026, the UP administration announced on Tuesday.
UP President Angelo Jimenez said this outcome is equivalent to a 13-percent passing rate—6.74 percent higher than last year.
The successful candidates were sent notices following the release of the UP College Admission Test (UPCAT) results, which can be accessed via its official online portal: upcat2025results.up.edu.ph.
“We are not simply releasing the UPCAT results; we are opening doors. Doors that lead to opportunity, to nation-building, to lifelong journeys of learning and service,” Jimenez said in a press conference.
Students who passed the UPCAT are invited to enroll at UP and will receive admission offers from the specific campus and degree program where they have been accepted. They are required to confirm their decision to accept or decline the offer within the given deadline.
Accepted students must follow the registration instructions provided by their respective UP campus or academic unit.
Applicants who did not qualify may view their University Predicted Grade (UPG), which serves as the primary criterion for evaluating UPCAT applications. The UPG is calculated based on both the applicant’s high school academic performance and their UPCAT scores.
Non-qualifiers may use their UPG for admission appeals at select UP campuses, subject to slot availability and campus-specific appeal guidelines.
UP advised all applicants to thoroughly review the instructions accompanying their results and to stay updated on enrollment and appeals processes by regularly checking official UP communication channels.
