The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said over the weekend they remain in full swing as vacationers start making their way back to Metro Manila after spending the Holy Week break in the provinces.
In a statement, NCRPO chief Major Gen. Anthony Aberin said inspections will continue as well as the monitoring of police deployments on the ground.
Aberin said the increased police presence and public assistance desks will remain in places of convergence, while visibility patrols and coordination with terminal authorities and local government units will continue.
“Security operations remain in full swing as vacationers begin to make their way back into Metro Manila following the Holy Week and long holiday break,” the NCRPO said on Black Saturday.
“These measures are in place to ensure that major thoroughfares and transport hubs remain safe and orderly, as the metro transitions back to its usual pace,” it added.
Aberin also urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperative, and to report any suspicious activity to established hotlines and police help desks.
“The NCRPO is ready. We will be there in the streets to deliver safety and security services to the people,” he said.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) earlier mobilized all police units across the country on heightened alert and deployed over 65,000 cops to ensure a safe and peaceful observance of Holy Week.
