Corruption and illegal drugs are among the top issues Filipinos want President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to deal with, according to the PAHAYAG 2025 First Quarter Survey (PQ1-2025).

The survey, conducted from March 15 to 20 with 1,500 registered voters, revealed that corruption tops the list of national issues Filipinos are most concerned about, with 20% of respondents identifying it as their primary concern.

Illegal drugs followed closely at 13%, reflecting a growing anxiety, especially in Mindanao, where concern spiked to 26%.

Economic woes also loom large in the minds of the public, with 11% citing the general state of the economy and another 11% pointing to inflation as key issues that need immediate attention.

Many respondents expressed anxiety over daily survival.

Fourteen percent are worried about affording basic necessities, 10% raised concerns about healthcare access, and 9% are troubled by the lack of stable livelihoods.

Reflecting this anxiety, there was strong support for policies aimed at economic relief.

Eight in 10 Filipinos backed the House of Representatives’ approval of a P200 across-the-board daily minimum wage hike, showing a clear public demand for measures that could ease financial strain, especially for workers.

The survey, conducted in partnership with US-based PureSpectrum and its Singapore office, sampled 1,500 Filipino voters from a national research panel of over 200,000.

It has a ±3% margin of error at a 95% confidence level.
