House Speaker Martin Romualdez extended his warmest greetings to the Muslim community as they celebrate Eid’l Fitr, marking the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan on Monday.
“This is a time of thanksgiving, reflection and renewal of faith, as we celebrate the successful completion of the Holy Month of Ramadan,” Romualdez said, emphasizing the spiritual significance of the occasion.
The seasoned lawmaker acknowledged the discipline and endurance demonstrated during the month-long fasting, expressing hope that its conclusion would usher in “peace, prosperity, and divine grace” for all.
Romualdez highlighted that Eid’l Fitr is a reminder of the values of unity, compassion, and generosity—principles that strengthen the bonds among Filipinos, regardless of faith and background.
“Our Muslim communities play a vital role in shaping the nation’s future,” he said, adding that their commitment to peace, progress, and nation-building is deeply valued.
“As we continue working towards an inclusive and harmonious society, let us recognize the contributions of our Muslim brothers and sisters in fostering economic growth, cultural richness, and national unity,” the Speaker underscored.
Romualdez reaffirmed the House of Representatives’ dedication to promoting policies that uphold equality, respect, and opportunity for all. He emphasized the importance of supporting initiatives that uplift Muslim Filipinos and safeguard their rights and aspirations.
“May this Eid be filled with joy, love and togetherness. Let us celebrate this occasion with open hearts, remembering that our diversity is our strength, and that true progress is achieved when we stand together as one people,” he said in his statement.
