THE Philippine Fleet (PF) took a significant step toward promoting mental health and inclusivity in the workplace by hosting a mental health awareness webinar in collaboration with the Philippine Mental Health Association, Inc. (PMHAI).
The event, held on Thursday, March 20, at the Naval Operating Base-Subic (NOB-S), marked a key activity in the Fleet’s 1st Quarter Gender and Development (GAD) initiatives for 2025. It was attended by officers and enlisted personnel from various Fleet sub-units and floating assets.
Llewelyn Issa Dela Cruz, program manager of PMHAI’s Education and Advocacy Department, delivered an insightful lecture on the role of psychosocial support in cultivating a healthy, productive, and gender-inclusive workplace. She emphasized the importance of creating an environment that values mental well-being as a cornerstone of workplace success.
Another highlight of the event was the session titled “Understanding Mental Health and Other Psychosocial Concerns,” led by Joyce Dolaires, Head of PMHAI’s Community-Based Mental Health Program. Her presentation explored common mental health challenges, stressing the need for early intervention, awareness, and robust support networks to promote overall well-being.
