President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. underscored the government’s commitment to job creation and accessible healthcare services during an event at the Fuerte CamSur Sports Complex in Camarines Sur on Friday.
Mr. Marcos attended the gathering, which featured a job fair, a Kadiwa market, and an expanded medical mission, to ensure the efficient distribution of benefits from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.
“It is important to match job seekers with opportunities suited to their skills,” President Marcos said, emphasizing the administration’s goal of providing stable employment rather than short-term jobs.
“We need jobs that last, jobs that provide a sustainable livelihood for our workers and their families,” he added.
The president took note of participants wearing “HOTS” (Hired on the Spot) shirts, praising the initiative’s immediate employment impact.
“This is a great opportunity we are bringing to the people so they can secure decent jobs,” he said.
In addition to employment programs, Mr. Marcos highlighted the importance of public health, citing the medical mission that has already served over 600 patients.
He thanked the Bicol Medical Center for facilitating the initiative, which aimed to ensure communities have access to essential healthcare services.
“This is part of a nationwide effort. We are bringing government services directly to the people because we know many are in need,” Mr. Marcos said.
“The world is changing, and we must find solutions that improve lives,” he added.
President Marcos also acknowledged the participation of private sector companies in the job fair, commending their role in addressing unemployment.
He expressed hope that the beneficiaries of the government’s 4Ps (Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program) will use the assistance to improve their livelihoods.
