The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) reiterated Wednesday that funding for the P350 daily subsistence allowance of its army personnel is covered in the 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

The AFP had to issue this statement amid the spread of misinformation circulating online, claiming that this item in its operational budget for Philippine Army has been disapproved.

The military posted a fact check notice on its official social media accounts on Wednesday evening, denying false claims about the allowance of military personnel.

“The Armed Forces of the Philippines refutes the false and baseless information being spread regarding the disapproval of the PHP 350 daily subsistence allowance increase for our personnel,” the military said in a statement.

According to the AFP, the P350 daily subsistence allowance increase has been successfully incorporated into the approved 2025 GAA or the national budget.

“This allocation demonstrates the government’s unwavering commitment to improving the welfare and support of our dedicated soldiers,” it added.

The AFP assured it remains dedicated to supporting the well-being of its soldiers and will continue to prioritize their needs.

It also urged its personnel and the general public to rely only on verified information.

“We appreciate the public’s understanding and cooperation in combating the spread of false information,” it said.

The Army has almost 100,000 active personnel nationwide.
