Taguig City makes headway with new integrated terminal project in Bicutan

Mayor Laarni Cayetano praised Arca South Integrated Terminals, Inc., Ayala Land, and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) for their collaboration on the upcoming Taguig City Integrated Terminal Exchange (TCITX).

This multi-modal transport terminal project will be located in Barangay Western Bicutan.

“This revolutionary project aims to serve Filipinos by creating a more efficient and connected transport system. The City of Taguig is honored to partner with national government agencies, private stakeholders, and major partners to bring this transformative project a reality,” said Cayetano.

The TCITX is designed to connect South Luzon travelers with Metro Manila’s key transport networks, including railways, buses, and the forthcoming subway system.

“We expect to assist more than 160,000 commuters daily,” Cayetano added.

The mayor anticipates that this project will cut travel time from Bicutan to Batasan from one hour and 50 minutes to just 26 minutes, benefiting up to 88,338 daily motorists.

“A heartfelt thank you to our partners in this project: Arca South Integrated Terminals, Inc., Ayala Land, and the DOTr,” Cayetano said.

Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista explained that the TCITX aims to rationalize transfer points for people and goods across the country, particularly for commuters coming from Laguna, Cavite, and Batangas.

The integrated terminal exchange will enhance interconnections between different modes and services of transport, he noted.

Bautista emphasized that once operational, the TCITX will alleviate congestion in the southern part of Metro Manila while providing travelers with efficient and accessible transportation.

“This project will play a vital role in decongesting major thoroughfares and delivering a smoother journey for passengers,” Bautista stated. “We eagerly await its completion and operational launch in the first quarter of 2028.”

As a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative, the TCITX will span 5.57 hectares and support a passenger capacity of 160,000, accommodating up to 5,200 vehicles daily.

The terminal will feature passenger terminal buildings, arrival and departure bays, public information systems, ticketing and baggage handling facilities, as well as park-and-ride areas.

Once operational, the TCITX will connect with the Southeast Metro Manila Expressway (SEMME, or C6 Expressway), entry and exit ramps, the North-South Commuter Railway System (NSCR), and the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP).
