Pet owners can’t help being stage parents. We love to see our fur babies out there, making the world their own personal catwalk (excuse the pun).
Before uploading IG-worthy snaps of your beloved pet on social media, why not elevate the experience by dressing them up first for their own little photo shoot?
For the fur babies that have never been dressed, here’s a foolproof guide so your parents will know where to begin. But remember: a pet’s safety and comfort come before anything else!
All bark, no buy
The easiest way to arrange a pet pictorial without a costume on hand is to make the fur baby’s environment work for them. Make a background scene that will juxtapose interestingly with your pet, such as a black cat against a witch’s hat and cauldron.
Buddy up
Similarly, instead of having your pet dress up, the fur parent may be the one to wear a costume. This would pair perfectly with the fur baby’s natural form, such as a Dalmatian to a Cruella de Vil costume.
Collar me surprised
Since pets usually wear collars to identify them or let others know they belong to a family, you can simply zhuzh up the existing collar with fabric and just enough accessories so as not to overwhelm your pet.
Do or dye
For pets without particularly sensitive skin, owners may also opt to use animal-safe temporary hair dye to form highlights or patterns for an edgy aesthetic.
