The Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) reported major accomplishments in its anti-drug campaign from January 1 to December 18, 2024, confiscating illegal drugs worth P2.44-billion.
According to the PNP-DEG, 698 operations were conducted, including 366 buy-bust operations, 47 search warrant operations, 45 marijuana eradication initiatives, and 232 arrests of wanted persons.
The efforts also included four interdiction operations and one instance of recovered or surrendered drugs.
These operations resulted in the arrest of 809 drug personalities. One suspect, however, was reported to have died in a police operation.
Confiscated drugs included 168 kilograms of shabu, 90 grams of cocaine, 48.672 kg of ketamine, 36.9 kg of kush, and 1,343 tablets of ecstasy.
Additionally, authorities seized 3,866,600 fully grown marijuana plants, and 1,830 kg of dried marijuana leaves.
The PNP-DEG underscored its commitment to intensifying efforts against illegal drugs, ensuring the safety and security of communities across the country.
