AirAsia ready to serve 300k passengers this holiday season

AirAsia Philippines on Thursday expressed its readiness to accommodate more than 300,000 passengers from December 16, 2024, to January 6, 2025, during the Christmas to New Year travel period.

The airline reports a load factor exceeding 80% and anticipates a significant surge in bookings as Filipinos make last-minute plans to reunite with loved ones.

To ensure smooth operations, AirAsia has optimized the working schedules of its essential staff as part of its “Always Ready sa Pasko’t Bagong Taon” initiative.

Ground personnel at check-in counters are now on standby, and customer happiness desks have been made easily accessible at key hubs to assist guests with their travel requirements and inquiries.

AirAsia Philippines Communications and Public Affairs Head, First Officer Steve Dailisan, encourages guests to book flights early, as ticket fares tend to increase closer to the travel date.

“We expect a significant surge in guest volume this week as many of our kababayans are making last-minute bookings for their holiday plans. While we recognize the excitement that comes with finalizing travel arrangements, we encourage our guests to book flights early, as ticket fares increase closer to the travel date,” Dailisan said.

“This time is also a good opportunity to secure your return flights in advance for after the holidays, as flights will fill up quickly after Christmas,” he added.

AirAsia urges passengers to arrive at the airport at least three hours before domestic flights and four hours before international flights to ensure a hassle-free experience.

The airline’s domestic flights will operate from Terminal 2, while international flights will depart from Terminal 3.
