The recent eruption of Kanlaon Volcano on Negros Island has impacted 11,791 families, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Thursday.
In its latest report, the council noted that this figure represents 40,489 individuals across 25 barangays in Western and Central Visayas.
Currently, 27 evacuation centers are accommodating 4,630 families, totaling 15,334 individuals, while 677 families (or 2,522 people) are receiving aid outside of these centers.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), along with local government units and non-government organizations, has provided P6.43 million worth of assistance to the affected families.
