The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the Reserve Force on Saturday by empowering its members through the AFP Reservists National Convention 2024.
In partnership with the Association of Reservists and Reservist Administrators of the Philippines Inc. (ARRAPI), the event brought together over 2,000 reservists, military officials, and leaders from the Army, Navy, and Air Force to celebrate the vital role of reservists in national defense and community service.
Additionally, the event served as a venue for the first ARRAPI General Assembly.
General Romeo S. Brawner Jr., AFP Chief of Staff, attended as one of the speakers. He emphasized the AFP’s ongoing implementation of the Reserve Force Development Strategy 2023-2028, which aims to empower reservists through strategic initiatives such as enhanced recruitment and capabilities development.
“Our reservists are essential components of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, providing crucial support during emergencies and significantly contributing to community development, ensuring we are prepared to confront any challenges to our national sovereignty,” General Brawner stated.
The event was organized by the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Reservist and Retiree Affairs, AFP, led by Major General Joel Alejandro S. Nacnac, in collaboration with ARRAPI, a non-profit group headed by Congressman LTC Michael L. Romero PAF(RES). The aim was to strengthen Reserve Force Development through dialogue, collaboration, and showcasing capabilities.
