NCRPO says crimes in Metro Manila down 17.52% by end of November

Crime incidences declined by 17.52 percent in Metro Manila during the last week of November, which the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) attributed to its effective implementation of law enforcement strategies to maintain peace and order.

In a statement released on Monday, the NCRPO said crimes decreased from November 24 to 30 compared to the previous week. Authorities arrested 337, including most wanted persons, through intensified operations.

The NCRPO said it has conducted a total of 181 anti-drug operations, resulting in the arrest of 287 individuals and the seizure of illegal substances with an estimated street value of P32.2-million.

It also arrested 449 individuals involved in at least 187 illegal gambling operations with confiscated paraphernalia estimated at P114,147.50.

Meanwhile, in preparation for the 2025 National and Local Elections, the NCRPO also launched 25 operations targeting the illegal possession of firearms. This resulted in the seizure of 25 firearms and the arrest of 25 individuals.

“Our strategy involves increasing police visibility in key areas, employing innovative crime reduction approaches, and conducting intelligence-driven operations,” said NCRPO regional director Brigadier General Anthony Aberin.

“Strengthening the partnership between the police and the community remains a cornerstone of our efforts to ensure a safer and more secure Metro Manila,” he added.

The NCRPO reaffirmed its commitment to proactive and collaborative policing to sustain these gains and further enhance public safety in the region.
