The Philippine Army welcomed Brig. Gen. Yegor Rey P. Barroquillo Jr. as the new Chief of Staff of the Philippine Army (CSPA).
The event was graced by Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido, the Commanding General of the Philippine Army (CGPA), who extended his best wishes to Brig. Gen. Barroquillo for his new role within the organization.
The CGPA also acknowledged Maj. Gen. Ferdinand B. Napuli, the Acting Chief of Staff, for his brief yet impactful tenure in the office.
Brig. Gen. Barroquillo is a distinguished member of the Philippine Military Academy “Tanglaw-Diwa” Class of 1992 and previously served as the Commander of the 103rd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division.
In addition to his recent command, he has held significant positions in both the Office of the Commanding General of the Philippine Army and the Office of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, which have equipped him with essential skills for his new responsibilities.
During the ceremony, Lt. Gen. Galido recognized Brig. Gen. Barroquillo’s contributions to the Army and expressed optimism regarding the CSPA’s role in fostering growth within the organization.
“More than intelligence and operations, we must also adapt to fulfill our other roles at Headquarters. Achieving our goal of transformation and organizational change is a collective effort, and remember, you are not alone in this mission. We are with you every step of the way,” stated Lt. Gen. Galido.
